Construction technique

nerikomi forces a new mindset on the potter as surface decoration is the result of work going on beneath the surface of the pot. in this case, preparation is everything, each sliver of clay is joined in order to compose a large block  
at first glance the pot below looks like it has had designs either painted or drawn on to the surface.
The steps below outline my approach, this work is made using coloured clay on a wheel so it could be called neriage.
